Ah coffee!

From Denver west to Grand Junction was slow but

Once we hit Utah it was fast

And beautiful.

Paul made a new friend in Moab.
.
Saturday morning we were bused to the start line in
Canyonlands National Park wow what a drive.
Around 30 degrees at the start line
we arrived about an hour and a half before the start.

More buses and more runners for over an hour.
3,282 runners total.
.

Great atmosphere even though the weather was cool.

It's always more fun with friends.
.

Paul and I met Stephanie while waiting for the start
she ran the Pikes Peak Ascent last year, a race we ran.

It was cold to be standing around before the
start but that makes it perfect for running.

The drums were great they could be heard in the distance
long before they could be seen, they gave a big boost.
.

.Stephanie finished fourth in her age group and 26 of 1941 women
1:35:03 Great Job Stephanie!

Pam #1224 ran a 1:52:57 finishing 15 of 105 in her age group.
Ashley #1221 ran a 1:58:48 finishing 105 of 325 in her age group.
It's hard to understand the joy runners have after a race like this,
unless you are a runner.
.

Eleven year old Kade finished 5th in his age group in the 5 mile run.
.
PS.
Paul ran a 1:40:41 and finished 26 of 152 in his age group and 247 of 3,282 over all
.
My goal was to run under 1:45
I ran a 1:45:04.
Maybe next time?
I finished seventh in my age group and 477 of 3,282 over all.
